Research Fellow

Snorkel AI, the AI data lab founded out of the Stanford AI Lab, is hiring Research Fellows -- PhD students and postdocs -- to build open benchmarks and evaluation environments that help measure AI progress. Fellows own a project end-to-end, from scoping the research question through public release, working with a Snorkel researcher as co-advisor and with access to domain experts and compute, while retaining their academic affiliation and spending at least one day a week with Snorkel's research team (San Francisco or New York, in person where applicable). Candidates should have a research background suited to designing open benchmarks, datasets, or evaluation environments, experience turning research ideas into working code, datasets, or other usable artifacts, and ideally publications at venues like NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR, or deep domain expertise in a field such as the sciences, medicine, law, or finance where expert-level evaluation is scarce. Listed hourly pay is $85-$165+/hour.
