About the role
The Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support Dr Felipe Karam Teixeira's research into the molecular mechanisms that drive germline differentiation in vivo, using Drosophila as a model organism. The role involves exploring gene regulation mechanisms controlling oocyte formation through transcriptional, post-transcriptional, translational, and chromatin-associated mechanisms, using next-generation sequencing, computational analysis, developmental biology, and advanced microscopy.
Candidates should hold (or be near completion of) a PhD in molecular biology, genetics, developmental biology, biochemistry, genomics, or a related field; experience with sequencing-based methods (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq) and confocal microscopy is valued, and Drosophila genetics experience is advantageous. The post is for three years in the first instance, with a flexible start date of January/February 2027.
