About the role
Baylor College of Medicine in Houston is hiring a Postdoctoral Associate to study how infection leaves durable epigenetic and transcriptional changes that shape long-term immunity, inflammation, and lung repair, with a focus on post-infectious and post-tuberculosis lung disease. Responsibilities include measuring inflammation and immunity markers in patient blood samples, performing single-cell RNA-seq, scATAC-seq, and CITE-seq, conducting CRISPR-based gene and epigenetic perturbation studies, analyzing data from sepsis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis patient cohorts, and developing organoid models of infection-induced lung disease.
Minimum qualifications are an MD or PhD in basic science, health science, or a related field, with no experience required. Preferred candidates hold a PhD in biology or immunology with a strong statistics background, experience in epigenetics and gene regulation, programming skills in R or Python, and strong communication skills.
