About the role
The Division of Vascular Surgery's Vascular Intelligence for Translational AI & Learning (VITAL) Lab, in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, is hiring a Postdoctoral Associate for imaging-based and clinical research into aortic disease, with emphasis on complex endovascular aortic repairs and AI- and digital-twin-based research initiatives. Responsibilities include protocol development and study design for prospective and retrospective research, clinical data collection and management, CTA/DICOM imaging analysis, IRB submissions and multicenter study coordination, data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, conference presentations, and collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.
Minimum qualifications are an MD or PhD in basic science, health science, or a related field, with no experience required. Preferred candidates hold an MD or MD/PhD with clinical research experience, or a PhD in biomedical engineering, medical physics, or computational science, ideally with vascular imaging research background and familiarity with imaging software and AI/machine learning applications. Pay follows NIH-style stipend guidelines.
