About the role

This postdoctoral position is at DESY (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron), part of the Helmholtz Association, within the Advanced Multilayer X-ray Optics group at CFEL in Hamburg. The research develops novel multilayer Laue lenses (MLLs) to enable atomic-resolution X-ray imaging and study electron dynamics in molecular systems. Duties include preparing and conducting experiments at X-ray facilities, characterizing and improving X-ray lenses and gratings, extending imaging modalities toward atomic resolution, and exploring MLL feasibility across experimental platforms. Requires a PhD in physics, applied physics, or a related field, solid knowledge of Fourier optics and X-ray physics, and strong Python skills; synchrotron/XFEL experience is a plus.
