About the role
The University of Southampton's School of Physics and Astronomy is recruiting a postdoctoral Research Associate for the five-year STFC-funded TRANSCEND collaboration, analyzing host galaxies of transients using Vera Rubin/LSST and 4MOST TiDES survey data to study stellar death mechanisms, supermassive black hole growth and dark energy, with scope for additional transient follow-up work.
Requires a PhD in astrophysics, physics, cosmology or a related field, strong Python skills, and experience in time-domain astronomy, supernovae, galaxy evolution or survey science. Five-year position starting April 2027.
