Altos Labs' Rosi Lab (Discovery Sciences organization, Bay Area) is hiring a Research Specialist/Associate (I/II) with expertise in in vivo brain surgeries and animal behavior to support neuroscience research into mechanisms of brain health and resilience. The role performs precise cranial window surgeries and headplate/headbar implantations in murine models for longitudinal imaging, and executes stereotaxic brain surgeries for targeted intracranial delivery of AAV vectors and tracers.
Additional responsibilities include independently managing the full surgical workflow (pre-operative prep, anesthesia, surgery, and post-operative monitoring), generating and managing timed cohorts of neurodegenerative disease models, and conducting animal behavior assays alongside the surgical work to correlate in vivo findings with functional outcomes.
