About the role

Ginkgo Bioworks is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Autonomous Lab (Scheduling & Optimization) team, part of the Orchestrator group that runs robotic lab automation cells. The role designs scheduling algorithms that model real-world constraints (resources, time windows, throughput) and turns them into solvers and heuristics, plus builds simulation environments, benchmarking suites, and observability tools to validate scheduling decisions before production. Requires advanced operations-research/optimization expertise, a track record shipping production scheduling systems, and strong Python. Onsite in Boston 5 days/week; no visa sponsorship.
