Staff Mechanical Engineer - Optical Payloads

BlackSky, a real-time space-based intelligence company, is hiring a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical integration of optical payloads into its satellite platforms, from concept through production. The role spans payload integration with internal and external partners, spacecraft component design in CAD, engineering documentation, and resolving issues during manufacturing, plus building tooling and ground support equipment for integration and test. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in satellite or launch vehicle industries, hands-on experience maturing optical system designs, CAD expertise, familiarity with ANSI Y14.5, and U.S. Person status. PTC Creo/Windchill and structural/thermal analysis experience preferred.
