About the role

Roche is hiring a Student Intern in Lab Automation for its Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) organization in Basel, within the 360 Labs Chapter that provides core scientific automation technologies to discovery scientists. Working alongside two experienced lab automation scientists, the intern will help automate sample-preparation workflows for genomics, proteomics, and flow cytometry applications — programming and validating the user interface, robotic pipetting workflow, and automated report generation — and may contribute to automation platform design and engineering (CAD, 3D printing). Candidates should be currently enrolled in (or have completed within the prior 12 months) a bachelor's or master's degree in biology/biotechnology or a related discipline, with prior programming experience (Python, MATLAB, R, or similar). Preferred start is January 2027 for a roughly 12-month internship.
