About the role
The Institute for Behavioral Genetics at the University of Colorado Boulder is recruiting up to three tenure-track Assistant Professors (or more senior, with 7+ years post-postdoc experience) to start August 2027. Appointees will participate in the research and teaching missions of both the Institute and their home academic department. The Institute prioritizes candidates applying statistical genetics and/or twin and family approaches to lifespan development, aging, neurodegeneration, cognition, learning disabilities, mental health, substance use, or sleep/circadian research; whole-genome analysis, statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics, and machine learning specialties are preferred.
Candidates need a PhD, MD/PhD, or DPhil in a life science (neuroscience, biology, genetics, psychology, physiology, or related field) and completed postdoctoral training. Starting salary is $95,000-$110,000 on a 9-month basis, with exact placement depending on accomplishments.
