Vulcan Elements is manufacturing American rare-earth permanent magnets in Research Triangle Park, NC, scaling toward a 10,000 ton/year facility. This role (posted as "Applied Machine Learning Engineer" but scoped as a Data Engineer in the body of the posting) will design and own the company's data infrastructure from pilot scale to full production: the end-to-end architecture from operational data stores through analytics, ETL pipelines ingesting and enriching manufacturing and lab data, and data models supporting both operational queries and future AI applications. Requires 8+ years of data engineering experience with data lakes, ETL pipelines, and relational databases, plus the ability to work under U.S. export-control requirements.
