Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division - Research Engineer: Statistics and Machine Learning

MBZUAI's Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division is hiring a Research Engineer in Statistics and Machine Learning on a 3-12 month contract (flexible). The role involves implementing and evaluating ML methods, building reproducible research workflows, and collaborating with research groups and external partners, with possible focus areas including probabilistic prediction, uncertainty quantification, conformal prediction, time-series forecasting, and anomaly detection. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, plus practical ML/statistical modeling experience and proficiency with Git, Linux, and documented research code. Preferred: experience with PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn, GPU/HPC computing, and publications or open-source contributions. Compensation includes a tax-free monthly salary, housing allowance, medical insurance, and an annual return flight.
