About the role
This Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate role, co-funded by Innovate UK, pairs Queen Mary University of London's Digital Environment Research Institute (DERI) with AstraZeneca. The Machine Learning Scientist will build an AI platform for generating novel peptide sequences with desired biological and biophysical properties, predicting affinity, stability and permeability.
The post is based at QMUL with the primary workplace at AstraZeneca's Discovery Centre in Cambridge, requiring periodic travel between the two sites. Candidates need a PhD (or near completion) in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology or a related field, with an interest in biological sequence modeling. Salary is £38,419 to £50,419, fixed-term and full-time.
