About the role
A postdoctoral researcher position at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence to lead an interdisciplinary project developing foundation models for cryogenic scanning transmission electron microscopy (cryoSTEM). Responsibilities include understanding cryoSTEM physics, designing novel model architectures, implementing parallel training systems for multi-terabyte datasets across GPU clusters, managing research subprojects, mentoring junior researchers, and publishing findings, under the guidance of faculty in computational biology/bioimage informatics and distributed machine learning.
A PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, AI, biomedical imaging, computational biology, or a related field is required, with a strong publication record in computational microscopy, computer vision, or parallel machine learning.
