About the role
The University of Sheffield's School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering is recruiting a DMEx Innovation Fellow (Grade 8, hybrid working), a fixed-term research role serving as a hub connecting academics, government scientists, and industry partners to advance Materials 4.0, digital twinning, and materials passporting for metallic aerospace components. The work addresses weight/cost reduction, reach and persistence, mission survivability, and transformative asset management.
Candidates need a PhD in materials engineering or a related discipline, practical experience with metallic aerospace materials and Materials 4.0 technologies, and the ability to build collaborative research networks across academia, government, and industry. UK citizenship is required for security clearance.
