About the role
Fully-funded 4-year PhD studentship at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, on computational modelling of battery interphase formation, funded by the Faraday Institution. The project investigates solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) and cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) formation in lithium-ion batteries using first-principles calculations, machine-learned interatomic potentials, and molecular dynamics, combined with experimental validation, including a mandatory 3+ month placement at the University of Birmingham. Requires a minimum 2:1 Honours degree in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or physics.
