PhD graduate student position in the Elkrief laboratory at the CHUM Microbiome Centre, investigating how the gut microbiome shapes immune responses and outcomes to cancer immunotherapy. The lab translates microbiome discoveries into therapeutic strategies for cancer patients, with current work on fecal microbiota transplantation, live biotherapeutic products, prebiotics, and dietary interventions, integrating preclinical models with patient samples.
Candidates should hold an MSc in immunology, microbiology, cancer biology, or a related field, with prior research experience and a publication record. Hands-on lab skills in cell culture, flow cytometry, murine tumor models, bacterial culture, and bioinformatics are expected, along with strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
