The role involves researching how gut microbiome changes affect cardiovascular and metabolic health: designing epidemiological studies of gut microbiome perturbations and cardiometabolic health, and analysing large-scale cohort data integrating microbiome, clinical, lifestyle, metabolomic, genetic and register information. Requires a PhD in epidemiology, microbiology, medicine or a related field (preferably within 3 years, with a doctoral focus on gut microbiome epidemiology), independent experience analysing human microbiome data, strong statistical skills (preferably R), and at least one first-author publication in gut microbiome epidemiology. Experience with longitudinal microbiome measurements, GWAS/Mendelian randomization, or metabolomics is advantageous.
