About the role
The University of Sussex is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Neurobiology and Behaviour) within the Sussex Neuroscience Centre of Excellence, available immediately until 30 June 2028 (extension possible). The fellow will investigate how the molecular biology of neurons relates to the development and function of neural circuits using Drosophila models, applying molecular biology, transcriptomics, neurogenetics, optogenetics, optical neuronal imaging, neurophysiology, microscopy, and quantitative behavioural approaches, while collaborating with lab members and international partners.
Requires a doctoral-level degree in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field, a solid background in neurobiology, neurodevelopment, or behaviour, and familiarity with Drosophila genetics and behavior. Closes 1 November 2026.
