About the role
The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the van Bijsterveldt Lab within its Generative Biology Institute. The lab works "at the frontier of genome engineering," aiming to build chromosomes from scratch and control how they are inherited, tackling challenges such as centromere design, mitotic segregation, and chromosome pairing control in mammals and plants.
The fellow will design and execute experiments in genome engineering, analyze complex genomic datasets, contribute to research direction, publish papers, present at conferences, and mentor junior researchers. Candidates need a completed PhD in a relevant field (synthetic biology, computational biology, genomics, or similar), a strong research track record with high-impact publications, and the ability to work independently on complex experimental problems.
