About the role
Project Scientist role in the Food, Microbiome and Health programme at Quadram Institute Bioscience, Norwich, studying gene-regulatory mechanisms of sex-dependent gene expression in the intestine in relation to gut microbiota, inflammation and cancer (MRC-funded, with international partners including a FAPESP-MRC collaboration with the University of Essex, Queen Mary University London and UNICAMP Brazil, in Dr. Naiara Beraza's lab). Duties include establishing and characterizing mouse lines, conducting in vivo studies, molecular and cell biology work (PCR, qPCR, immunoblotting, ELISA, flow cytometry), tissue harvest and analysis, and training/supervising staff and students.
Fixed-term contract, 18 months full-time or 3 years part-time. Requires a Home Office Personal License (or equivalent) for animal work and competency in molecular biology methodologies.
