About the role
The Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge (West Cambridge site) is recruiting a Research Assistant/Associate in NanoBio Printing and Assembly, fixed-term through March 1, 2028. The role involves managing instrumented printing and droplet-generation systems, integrating protein formulations, testing alignment methods to create functional materials, establishing process parameters, analyzing data, maintaining standard procedures, and supporting scale-up. The appointee also acts as technical project lead, coordinating and mentoring across seven collaborating research groups.
Candidates should hold (or be completing) a PhD in chemical engineering, materials science, applied physics, fluid mechanics, or a related field with biotechnology expertise, and have strong hands-on experience with printing, droplet, microfluidic, or flow processes. Experience with field-assisted processing, advanced imaging, magnetic materials, or protein handling is desirable. Research Assistant salary is £33,002-£35,608; Research Associate (with PhD) is £37,694-£46,049.
