About the role
Imperial College London (Hammersmith Campus) is hiring a Research Associate in Health Data (part-time, 2 hours/week, fixed-term 2 years with possible extension) to develop and maintain data pipelines for the My Heart Counts smartphone app, integrating clinical and biological datasets. Duties include managing Google Cloud resources (Firebase, BigQuery), assisting researchers with data queries, conducting analyses, preparing sponsor reports, contributing to publications and conference presentations, mentoring staff, and contributing to grant proposals.
Requires a PhD (or equivalent) in computer science or a related field such as statistics, physics, or biomedical engineering, proficiency in Python and SQL, knowledge of wearable, molecular, and health data, and experience with large-scale time-series and clinical/biological datasets. Candidates without an awarded PhD would instead be appointed as Research Assistant at a lower salary band. Closes 20 October 2026.
