About the role

Research Associate position in Dr Christoph Schran's group at the Cavendish Laboratory (Department of Physics), University of Cambridge, developing machine learning approaches for atomistic simulation of materials, particularly amorphous and disordered systems, within the Lennard-Jones Centre. Work includes generating reference data, training and validating ML interatomic potentials, and running large-scale molecular dynamics on HPC systems. Requires a PhD (or near completion) in physics, chemistry, materials science or a related field, with strong Python/PyTorch skills; DFT data generation and GPU computing experience are a plus. Closing date 13 September 2026.
