About the role
The Rosalind Franklin Institute, a UK technology institute based at Harwell Campus, is hiring a Research Associate in Structural Cell Biology (ref 10413), a fixed-term postdoctoral research role in the Grange group. The successful candidate will develop computational methods for reconstructing macromolecular structures from tissue-derived cryo-electron tomography data, investigating the 3-dimensional organisation of macromolecular complexes within brain tissue.
Responsibilities include creating and optimizing computational pipelines for structure determination from tissue samples, collaborating with clinicians on tissue preparation, conducting experiments and analysis, contributing to publications and presentations, supervising students or visiting researchers, and collaborating with partners at Imperial College London, UCL, and Oxford. A PhD/DPhil (or submitted thesis) in a relevant field is required, with expertise in structural biology, computational analysis, and cryo-electron tomography workflows.
