About the role
An ERC-funded Research Associate/Senior Research Associate post in Professor Benjamin Palmer's biomineralization group at the University of Bristol (Inorganic and Materials Chemistry), funded through October 2028. The work spans monitoring phytoplankton at Lake District field sites, culturing microalgae and microscopy of nitrogen-storage crystals, and in vitro crystallization experiments to develop bio-inspired crystalline materials, in collaboration with the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. Requires a PhD in biology, microbiology, ecology or a related science, ideally with microalgae, bio-imaging, or mass spectrometry experience.
