About the role
Columbia University's Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute and Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, in New York City, are hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Neuroscience. The search seeks candidates using genetic, genomic, and evolutionary approaches to understand the neural basis of behavior, or state-of-the-art optical, chemical, or electrical methods combined with computational approaches in mammalian model systems; additional interests include cognitive processes and molecular, cellular, or developmental neuroscience. Labs will be housed in the Jerome L. Greene Science Center, a highly interactive, state-of-the-art facility on Columbia's Manhattanville campus.
Requires a Ph.D. and/or M.D., with demonstrated exceptional ability, creativity, and productivity. The position offers generous start-up funds, lab space, and mentorship, with a salary range of $130,000 to $170,000 and an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.
