Three-year fully funded Clinical Research Fellow (PhD) position at The University of Manchester developing circulating nucleic acid (liquid biopsy) biomarkers for biliary tract cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring. Combines laboratory-based research (molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, biomarker assay development, bioinformatics) with clinical engagement under experienced supervisors, aimed at clinicians pursuing translational cancer research careers. Requires a medical degree (MB ChB or equivalent), GMC registration, and MRCP/FRCP with clinical/medical oncology experience; start date January 2027.
