About the role
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is hiring a Lead or Senior In Vivo Researcher for the Yen Lab's therapeutic genome engineering program, which develops genome-editing therapies for hemoglobinopathies. The role directs in vivo studies using humanized and disease-relevant animal models, isolates and characterizes human hematopoietic stem cells, administers experimental therapies via minimally invasive delivery methods, refines protocols for animal welfare, mentors junior staff, and maintains documentation for regulatory compliance.
Minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) plus 5+ years of research experience, or 3+ years with a master's, or a PhD with no prior experience required. Hands-on expertise with humanized/immunocompromised animal models, flow cytometry, magnetic-activated cell sorting, and ideally human stem cell handling and transplantation is expected, along with knowledge of regulatory compliance and animal welfare practices.
