About the role
The Abraham Lab at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Sciences to study gene dysregulation, chromatin composition, and genome organization in pediatric cancers. The role involves leading computationally focused research projects with increasing independence, developing new computational methods for analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, and presenting findings to colleagues within and outside the institution.
Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, molecular biology, biochemistry, computer science, or a related field, with a track record of scientific productivity such as a first-author publication. Experience with high-throughput sequencing analysis tools (e.g., bedtools, samtools, HiCPro), high-performance computing clusters, and knowledge of gene regulation mechanisms (transcription factors, enhancers) is preferred. The initial appointment is for 1-2 years, renewable up to 5 years total, in Memphis, Tennessee.
