About the role

Profluent is seeking a Scientist II / Sr. Scientist to build and lead its base-editor specificity assessment program. The role involves developing biochemical and cell-based workflows, including CHANGE-seq-BE methodology, to identify DNA and RNA off-target activity from AI-designed CRISPR base editors, generating data that informs editor engineering decisions and can support future regulatory submissions. The scientist will apply NGS-based genome editing analysis, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology techniques while collaborating with protein engineering and bioinformatics teams. Requires a PhD in molecular biology or a related field with 2-4 years of industry experience in genome editing specificity and genomic safety, hands-on CRISPR and NGS workflow expertise, and the ability to communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
