RIKEN is hiring a Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher to study brain-body and neuroimmune interactions, specifically how social behavior influences subsequent responses to pathogen infection. The role uses mouse models combined with behavioral analysis, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and electrophysiological recordings to identify the neural circuits and mechanisms involved.
Candidates need a PhD in neuroscience, biology, veterinary medicine, or medicine, with experience in neuroscience techniques, molecular biology, and/or immunology. Stereotaxic surgery in rodents and tissue sectioning/staining experience is preferred. Fluency in English is required for this international research environment. The position is open until filled, based at RIKEN's Wako Campus.
