Staff Materials, Process, & Test Engineer

Electra, maker of the EL9 hybrid-electric short takeoff and landing aircraft, is hiring a Staff Materials, Process, & Test Engineer to lead advancement and certification of materials and processes for its aircraft program. The role covers qualification of composite and metallic airframe materials, structural and environmental test campaigns from component to full-scale level, failure investigations, and technical guidance to the wider engineering team, all in support of FAA Part 23/25 certification. Requires a bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering plus 5+ years of aerospace materials and processes experience with composites and metallic structures, knowledge of processing methods (lamination, curing, heat treatment, welding, additive manufacturing), and FAA certification pathway experience. On-site in Manassas, VA.
