Research Data Scientist/Research Software Engineer

The Alan Turing Institute's Research Engineering Group is hiring a Research Data Scientist/Research Software Engineer to turn cutting-edge data science and AI research into professionally usable software tools. The role involves collaborating with research colleagues to develop and maintain high-quality, well-tested software, analyzing client data in reproducible ways, and applying advanced data science and AI techniques to real-world problems for the Institute's partners. Responsibilities include presenting work through talks, reports, and documented packages, contributing to the Institute's research community, and deploying solutions at scale using modern cloud infrastructure. Candidates should have expertise in a modern programming language, familiarity with software engineering best practices (version control, testing, package management), and strong communication skills, along with experience handling and analyzing research data independently and in teams.
