About the role

The Ellison Institute of Technology's Generative Biology Institute is hiring a Bio-ML Scientist to build AI/machine-learning systems for synthetic biology and genome-design problems, working closely with wet-lab scientists and the ML engineering team. A specific focus is integrating machine-learning methods with genome-scale metabolic models, using constraint-based modeling and automated model construction. Requires a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, mathematics, computer science, computational biology or a related field, experience building ML models for biological design/discovery tasks, and proficiency in Python, R or Julia. Two years of industry or postdoctoral experience and prior work combining ML with genome-scale metabolic models are desirable. Requires permanent UK work authorization.
