About the role
The University of Oxford's Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (OxCIN@FMRIB) is recruiting a postdoctoral Research Scientist to develop an MR physics framework predicting imaging characteristics from quantitative data, working with Professors Karla Miller and Aaron Hess on Wellcome Trust-funded research. The role connects population-level brain-imaging datasets, such as UK Biobank, with clinical applications by linking biological mechanisms to imaging physics, and involves biophysical modelling, physics-based simulation, imaging protocol development, and quantitative measurement analysis. Candidates should have a background in MRI physics or engineering with experience in most of: biophysical tissue modelling, diffusion imaging analysis, Bloch/EPG physics simulation, multi-modal quantitative MRI, neuroimaging experiments, and tools such as FreeSurfer or FSL. The fixed-term post runs through 31 December 2028.
